The fun continues. His drug level was 29.5 this morning. This is a good news/bad news story. The bad news is that they have not figured out how much drug to give him each day to keep his level where they want it (around 40). The good news is that he is below 30 and has not seized (as far as we know). So it is sort of like he has been thrown off a ledge and they have figured out that he can fly. And we try not to think about what happens if he stops being able to fly and pray that he will keep flapping those wings. They are going to consult with the neuro folks about adjusting his dose and we will hope that they get this pinned down soon.

Had his level been better this morning, he likely would have been discharged tomorrow (pending a few little tests he has to pass first... shouldn't be a problem... we've been studying together and he is solid). But this little glitch will likely keep him here until at least Friday. We are cautiously getting our hopes up that we will be taking him home on Friday. His breathing is good. His eating is good. His pooping is spectacular (I'm so proud). It is really down to some level of comfort that his seizures are under control. It is a week ago tonight that he had the second bout of seizures, so we just pray that the streak continues.

The occupational therapist came by (unfortunately, while we were having lunch outside). The doctors had asked her to come and do an assessment and let us know if there were any things we could be doing to help him increase his muscle tone. The OT told his nurse that she doesn't think there is an issue - that his tone is fine. Great news.

We will keep you posted as things progress.
Much love,
Mom, Dad, and the Muscle Man
