Friday - home at last

My apologies for the delay in getting this post done. I know many of Finley's faithful friends have been anxious to hear how things have gone today. Well, let me just say this: FINLEY IS IN THE HOUSE!!!
Things went well this morning (except for the fact that I missed rounds for the only time in the whole two weeks). His drug level was 29 this morning, but we are no longer sure how to feel about that. He had another good night and good day. He has definitely found his crying voice.
We had to wait around a bit to do some paperwork for Finley. And Robyn has decided to donate some of the excess milk that she pumped while we were at the hospital (by my estimation, she left behind about 500 oz of milk and we brought another 90 or so home), so there was a lot of paperwork to get that in process.
Finley and Tasman had a brief and happy introduction when we first got home, but Finley has been pretty tired all afternoon. He and Mommy both crashed after his lunch and are sleeping as I type. It is sooooooo beautiful to see. I will take and post some homecoming pictures this evening, but wanted to let them sleep for now.
Our plan is to bunker a little bit this weekend. It is just the four of us (Tasman is the fourth, if you have to ask) for a few days before Grandma Hannah comes back for another visit and we all need some time just to rest and absorb the fact that there are not monitors binging constantly and people coming to poke and prod and examine him.
It is great to be home.
Love,
Robyn, Kevin, Tasman, and the newest resident of 4 Swallows Ridge Ct.

This is Dr. Rachel Troy, the fellow who was Finley's attending physician. She is a fantastic doctor and a genuinely special person. We got really lucky to have her as Finley's doctor... today was her last day in the NICU for a while as she moves on to do research as part of her fellowship.

This is Dr. Marty McCaffrey, the head neonatologist who was the first to speak to us after they examined Finley the day he was born. He has been so great to us and to Finley right from the get go. Several times he took extended chunks of time just to sit and visit with us and help us to process all that was happening. We are so grateful to him.
